Maybe the most experienced recall it. There was a time when few knew what DSL was, but if you looked for it you could read incredible stories about wireless internet networks installed in companies around the us, most of which were open or so weakly cyphered that could be easily broken . There were even wardrivers, that is, people that armed with a laptop and a wifi card would drive registering the places were a wifi network was located. Thus, first weak wifis widespreaded and later new versions presumably more secured appeared and were broken. All in all, a technology sold several times is great market logic but terrible for our security. Although nowadays I can't help noticing the resemblance between what happened to wifi and what is happening to rfid: new vulnerable products are released which information can be read and duplicated, and when it'll be widespreaded enough and some had dropped their jaw, newer supposedly more secure versions will be launched that will have to be bought again. Indeed, the insecurity of rfid has already been proved and there's even people driving their car with a laptop and an antenna reading the information stored in, for example, passports. ...

Nowadays only an idiot could deny the importance of knowing English: It's the language of business, investigation, international relations and so on. In other words, it's the unofficial language of the world: spoken by 500 to 1.8 billion people, it is also the language most of the culture we consume is created in, so, how is that no spanish prime minister has been able to speak English?.

(Español) A más de la mitad de la gente no le importa nada lo que ocurra en un parlamento más trascendental que el de su comunidad autónoma o país. ¿Culpables?. La gente adormecida como está, los medios de comunicación que dedican más tiempo a hablar de prensa rosa que al parlamento más importante que tenemos y los partidos políticos que no han hablado de Europa y han invertido muchísimo menos en darse a conocer.

Invisible connections
I can't help being surprised because of the fact that, when talking to someone, right after criticizing the tv channels she/ he watches, his/ her preferred radio stations or newspaper most of the people take it personally. There must be a connection, an invisible link between their brains and their medias. Maybe after all they are connected in some way and that's the logic answer for the survival of the whole system. Or maybe they just discovered that when you get married to something biased, when the only information you consider valid is that of a given party, you must protect it even if it's a torture, even if directs its words against any logic you must protected it because, otherwise you shall be no one, you shall be nothing. As I see it, it's a fact that we love informative endogamy, we're just great when it comes to closing the doors of the knowledge, wearing blinders as if we're beast that need to see only in one direction, so that we only perceive the mandatorily correct path. Eso ha sido lo que le ha pasado a miles de personas. movistar, orange y vodafone subieron las tarifas de telefonía móvil a principios de 2007 (lo que les ha supuesto varios cientos de millones de euros adicionales), muchas personas habían firmado un contrato cuya permanencia no había vencido y decidieron cambiarse a otro operador. Cuando me enteré del asunto recurrí a la ley: ¿podían subir las tarifas habiendo firmado un contrato con otras tarifas?. Si, podían, pero eso me daba (a mi y a todos los que tuviéramos contrato) derecho a cancelar el contrato sin coste alguno (según el artículo 107 del real decreto 424/ 2005 de 15 de abril de de telecomunicaciones). En mi caso, orange hizo caso omiso a la parte de "sin gasto alguno": avisaba de ello, pero luego te cobraba la penalización por permanencia (150 euros más iva) y eso que envié el burofax pertinente en buena fecha. Bien, me puse a mirar leyes, webs y experiencias de otras personas y gracias a internet y en especial a los usuarios de banda ancha me informé de los pasos a seguir.
